Meet the Band

  • Shanti Price

Shanti writes, ”The place where freedom dwells is at the crest where thoughts are met with love. We are awakening from the crevices of mind and physiology into inspired movement, touching all.”

“It is perfectly sound to sense the interplay of nature in your blood. We are not separate from the winged ones surrounding nor from the blind burrowers of Earth and deep oceans.”
From the resources and intelligence of nature comes the music, paintings, writings, gardening, mentoring and professional health care practices of Lisa Price (Shanti).

Shanti plays Flute, Penny Whistles, Percussion, Sings and contribute to lyrics with her long, loved friends and band mates in Light Matter.
She is a joyous mother to Eryn and Devon and shares a healthcare practice including Life Watchers, a teaching platform with partner John Beasley.

Shanti's passion is to be of support on your journey with mindfulness practices and music to enliven well being.
We are one with the winged, finned, scaled, two, four legged and this beautiful green, blue pearl, our Earth. 🎶🌎✨

  • Stacie

Stacie Smith is a playful, depth-full human, an elemental collage artist, psychotherapist, ceremonialist, death doula, rhythmist and wordsmith living in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her creative works arise through experiential meditation, interacting with nature, travel and contemplation of sacred symbols. Her healing work is grounded in the integration of Western psychology and Eastern thought and mindfulness-based, contemplative practices.

Stacie is a part of the kindness revolution, to change our culture’s relationship to aging, dying and death. She inspires others to open to their own and other’s experiences of dying as a path of deepening compassion and spiritual awakening.

Stacie is a song writer and percussionist in Light Matter, an improvisational, often meditational musical collaboration.

  • Harold

Harold Torres is an multi-instrumentalist who joined the group in 2017. He can be seen playing the bass guitar, synthesizers, conga drums, djembe, bodhran, singing bowls and other percussion instruments.

Harold has traveled the North, South, East and West guided by the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water and more recently by the light, because Light Matters. Always on the journey to bring elemental energies to the bass, drums and other instruments used in the ensemble.

  • Art

Not much is known about Art, he remains a mysterious and inviolable presence at the Light Matter sessions and though he is perceived sometimes as quixotic, he is nonetheless well-traveled, at least as far as his inner world is concerned. He plays guitar and keyboards but has yet to master the trumpet, which is his passion. He has played a thunder stick, but that is not so much a skill as it is a vice.

At one time there was a rumor going around that Art was a rocket scientist in a previous life, but it turns out he was merely a space garbage man who did not do pickups, just analysis. Art's true love is his wife Stacie, who will likely make him change every word of this bio except for the first 7 words of this sentence.

  • Greg

As the Lead guitarist and background vocalist, Greg continues an improvisational journey which began before he could speak. Word has it that he was humming Camptown Races before uttering his first words “me need vintage sunburst guitar”. He wholeheartedly believes in the healing power of music and sonic energy vibrations while sermonizing through electromagnetic radio corporation of America (RCA) power grids, phosphorbronze and hempcones. His love of the sublime and feline are major influences. As the surrealistic journey of Light Matter continues one can only wonder the magic and majesty that will be created! Love and Light to all!
